There are quite a few articles in Center for Breastdfeeding Information 
files that are about this, some are 20-30 years old.  I did my Master's 
research on Paper to Practice and found that it takes about 20-30 years for 
new facts to get into general circulation.

Preparing the gut seems to be one of the reasons that human milk feeding in 
prematures reduces NEC.  Pat in SNJ
