The magazine is the weekend supplement to the main newspaper in Bergen, not
really a national publication, but still big for here, and as Heidi and
Meri have written, it asks 'why does that provoke us?' The first part says
'She is 3 1/2 and still getting 'boob'. 'Pupp' is the familiar word for
breast, used almost universally, as it is easy to say, even if you are just
learning to talk. I say breast (well, actually, 'bryst') at work but women
talking about themselves just as likely to say pupp back to me.
When the story appeared it got a lot of attention. There was a good
interview with the mother who viewed herself as just a regular mum and came
off well in the piece.
I see the twitter person who alerted the blogger about this cover is a
mother in our organization, actually a second-generation member (her mother
is close to my age and also a member). Small country :-)
