Wondering if anyone has any new tips on how to distinguish OMER from
Reflux? See a 5 month old tomorrow who has been gaining weight wll (until
last month). Had also been feeding well, except for very short feedings
(mom reports 2-3 minutes). Then he suddenly started refusing breast. Dr.
suggested supplementing with pumped milk as she thought he wasn't getting
enough because of the low weight gain. She had already upped his 'reflux
meds. Baby does spit up all the time and definately likes to be held. Mom
reports that he is much happier since she started supplementing him with a
bottle of pumped milk after feeds(per Peds advice). So she thinks that she
doesn't have enough milk. So he has some symptoms of reflux, some symptoms
of over supply or strong ejection, and some symptoms of low supply. Doing a
weigh-feed-weigh tomorrow. Any other ideas on how to distinguish what is
going?
