Hello-
Has anyone worked with a client with hypothalamic amenorrhea? This mom has
very little milk with no clear etiology.
She is 35 year old and has never a period, has very low estrogen and to her
caregivers' knowledge never ovulated without medical stimulation & got
pregnant through infertility treatment. She is not excessively thin (to my
eye perhaps BMI of 27 or so), does not have an eating or exercise disorder.
This mom has very little milk & while I am working on all the usual
suspects, and I wondered if anyone had worked with a client with this
condition, and if so, what the outcome was....
Since the hypothalumus regulates prolactin, I am wondering if this mom is a
candidate for testing prolactin levels and if domperidone might be
indicated for her?
Thanks for your thoughts,
Molly
