Hi Margaret,
 
In our area, we see a fair number of women who have a hx of long-term oxycodone use due to some type of chronic pain and wish to breastfeed.  Many of these Moms have already been started on methadone. Would this be an option for this Mom to discuss with her physician? I don't know much about indications for the use of methadone so this is just a suggestion. (Refer to Hale for a discussion about dose and breastfeeding).
