To Judy and all...
This is my first time posting, hope I get it right!
First of all, shame on BioGaia for signing a deal with Nestle. They will hear from me next week, I would encourage all of you to do the same! As far as the drops disappearing from the market, I wonder if the mother could "reculture" them, if she has any left? It's a beer brewing trick, to incubate some yeast from a beer you like in order to grow more organisms with which to inoculate another batch of beer. I bet she could inoculate some EBM with the L. reuteri drops, hold it at warm room temperature or slightly higher (maybe 100F) for 12 hours to let the organisms multiply, then refrigerate the batch, giving her babe droppersful as she would the BioGaia. When she nears the end of a batch, she can use some of that batch to inoculate another vial of breastmilk.
It's experimental and probably violates all kinds of patent rules, but I'd have tried it for my colicky baby!
Cheers,
