Kathy, you state that the baby had one, and ***one*** only, diaper with just 
two streaks of blook in it - and no recurrence. If it is a one-off, it would 
be sensible to discuss a "wait-and-see" approch with the mother. She could 
remind her doctor that that it is a one-off with no recurrence, or seek a 
second opinion.
I have sometimes had dyads referred to me by concerned GPs after the mother 
has been put on a strict exclusion diet for alleged "allergy" by someone 
else, with the her range of foods very limited. Sometimes there has been no 
credible evidence of allergy.  Exclusion diets, especially long-term ones, 
are not something to be undertaken lightly and if there seems to be a need, 
a second opinion and involvement of a nutritions/dietitian is warranted.
