This is regarding the baby that has gone from birthweight of 8-4 to 7-1 in
10 days and physician is concerned about celiac....
AND wants mom to pump and dump???
First of all, I agree with Heather that she should continue to breastfeed.
If she feels obligated to "obey" the orders, then pump and keep the milk.
But before that, I would want to see all the weights from birth to
discharge to see if there is a screwup somewhere in the weights. Secondly I
think at least one or more ac/pc weights should be done to see how much on
average the baby is taking. Thirdly, I'd like to know why and on what basis
the physician is considering celiac just on the basis (as far as we can see)
of unexplained weight loss. Can't go by just pees and poops....
Good luck and keep us appraised of what is going on.
