She is very close to her scheduled delivery date, therefore I feel that
expressing colostrum would be valuable. She could also immediately express
every 1-2 hrs if baby is unable to latch on. I like to have mother express
into clean plastic 1 oz medicine cups and draw up the colostrum with a
syringe, if it is to be stored. We have 5 and 10 ml oral syringes that come
with a small cap to seal it. Or express into a clean spoon (readily
available on the unit) and immediately spoonfed to infant.
