Without getting into any of the issues about intellectual property rights
or safety of infants lying on mother's body if her body is horizontal, I
want to make one *tiny* correction to Meggie's post.
The BABY is prone, the mothers are generally supine. I don't think it is
physically possible for a baby to attach itself to a mother's breast
if mother is prone. Prone means lying on one's front, with one's back up.
Supine is the word to describe lying on one's back. The babies are placed
prone on a mother who is supine.
Apart from that I don't have any comments about the disclaimer. I haven't
seen the DVD in question. I am an enthusiastic devotee of laid-back
breastfeeding in the variants shown in Tina Smillie's and Suzanne Colson's
film clips.
