I only know what I learned in Uganda this fall. Moms given antivirals
during pg, babies are breastfed and baby begins antivirals at 1 week.
Their seroconversion rate has dropped from 16% tp 6%. Their mortality rates
when they were using formula instead of BF were extremely high - I heard 50%
in the rural areas, because the water supply etc is poor.
Some of our members in S. Africa can probably give us real research That's
where a lot of the early research on BF & HIV seroconversion was done. :-)
