After a decade spent in full-time elder care, and changes of email address where I didn't re-subscribe to Lactnet, I have returned and am looking forward once again to being part of the vibrant community I remember from the 1980s, when ILCA/IBLCE were created and Lactnet was all new and Kathy Auerbach was a list mother.....Hello to those I know, and best wishes to all. I won't be contributing much for quite some time (may prove to be famous last words if anything serious crops up), but how good to have 12 years of posts to browse when there's time....I hope the old posts were archived somewhere as they'd be an interesting historical record of the growth of the profession and the knowledge base. And being by original training an academic historian, I'd think that will be a fascinating subject for professional review one day. In the early 1980s I noted marked differences between countries on a number of issues; the IBLCE exam has been a major global force for change. It is so good to see so many people now keen to learn about lactation.
