I have been off the list for awhile and this is my first post: I have permission to post from the Mother.

Has anyone had experience of strong sulphur smelling burps from a Newborn
This baby had them on day 3 and 4. Normal birth no complications 4th baby.
He was other wise well. The only thing I can think of is that mother had a very early and copious milk supply, and maybe was just a lot for this bub to digest.
Nothing out of the ordinary diet wise except ONE protien drink taken by Mum ( not something she does not usually have). Baby was not vomiting ...Poos and wees looked normal slight jaundice but vigorous. I myself never smelt the burps and the Mum says they seem to have resolved now at one week.
This baby on the whole is feeding well and settled.
Baby number 3 had a dairy intolerance. The first 2 no probs
Mum has been on chat rooms and apparently it is discussed but no answers are forthcoming
thanks in anticpation of some insight
Jacqui
