I have an expectant mom who has hereditary angioedema. She is currently taking a new drug called Cinryze. It is a C1 esterase inhibitor (human). It has been used for a while outside the US, but I was not able to find any information from my normal sources--Hale, lactnet archives. I still need to check Lactmed. She was taking it before she became pregnant and she has continued to take it. She explained it replaces a blood protein she is lacking. She takes it every 3 days. It is by injection. It is made from human blood. Does anyone have any information about this drug and/or know of someone taking it while breastfeeding? Thanks!
