Dear Jean,
I have no contacts in NC. The only suggestion I can offer is to have it expressed clearly during the consult that any removal should use a radial incision (radiating from the edge of the areola), not a lateral one (running parallel to the edge of the areola) to cause the least likelihood of severing a nerve or duct.

No replies yet on my question about breastfeeding friendly breast surgeons in the Charlotte NC area. Does anyone have a good idea about whether or how to question the various breast surgeons' offices about this?
If not Charlotte, then what about the Raleigh-Durham area so the "lump/possible cyst" can be investigated before it might possibly cause lactation trouble??
TIA,
