In pulling together our end of year statistics, I realized that, in the last 6 months, 18 new hospitals have ordered milk from the Mothers' Milk Bank of New England. Some of these are hospitals just establishing protocols for use of donor milk as standard of care in their NICUs.
If you or anyone you know is working (or had a baby) in a NICU that does not (yet) use donor milk, I invite you to download our booklet "Use of Pasteurized Donor Human Milk as NICU Standard of Care" from our website (www.milkbankne.org) It is free and offers a template for how to establish a NICU donor milk program.
