Sadly my hospital has decided it's IBCLC may no longer discuss galactagogues of any kind to patients. They may not tell you names or doses. If you call they are supposed to refer you back to you OB Dr for a decision to take fenugreek or blessed thistle , or even discuss the possibility of talking to you Dr. about domperidone. I am concerned, I have read the literature about Fenugreek being a Blood Pressure medication reaction, but I believe that with proper knowledge to patient then we should be able to make informed decisions. Why go through the trouble of such stringent licensing and renewing of license to not be able to practice within the scope of this license. I do understand you can quit any job, but in this economy who would. What does this say to standards of practice? This is truly a vent but is any one else dealing with this creeping administration.
