Just a question from a hospital LC.

Is there a cap as to the number of visits Aetna will reimburse for?

Perhaps LCs in private practice can target pediatrician's offices and
make arrangements to see new patients either in the office, or in the
community. Perhaps they can see patients near their home, reducing
travel expense, and maximizing the number of patients seen. Perhaps
Aetna will cover multiple visits, helping to offset the amount
reimbursed. If the patient is nearby the LC, can she see the patient
today, and schedule a follow up appointment 2 days later and also be
reimbursed for that? I have heard of many LCs in private practices not
charging or reducing charges for follow up care. Here is a potential
income source previously maybe unavailable.

Also, I am very excited at the potential to expand hospital lactation
services for outpatients. I think this will provide access to care for
many patients who don't qualify for WIC services, but don't have the
resources to pay privately for lactation services.
