I don't know the article, but this technique works very well. Also, have the mom lie semi-turned with baby coming under her arm and over the nipple so baby stays flexed and forward along with self-latching.

Subject: Biting baby
Hi everyone,
I am searching for an article I believe I had read in Leaven a few years ago that described a way of holding a baby who has a tight jaw and bites mom's nipple during feeds. It describes holding the baby prior to feeding on his/her tummy over moms knees and have him/her suck on her finger to encourage the tongue to fall forward and relax the tension in the jaw to decrease biting. I think it was called magic hold, calm hold or something but can not find the article. Anyone know what I am talking about and can point me in the right direction??
Thanks so much!
