Yep that's why we need a really decent prospective study (with really good maternal histories taken because there would be variation between populations I am sure). 
The LLLI page http://www.llli.org/cbi/bibinsufficient.html gives a really nice list of publications that have stated in the range of 1-5% of women are incapable of fully breastfeeding up to 1997. There was the example from UNICEF UK in the Guardian a day ago. Do any of you have any more recent (post 2000) examples of these stats being repeated?
