I recently had a mom in the NICU ask me why is it that every time she
pumps she wants to cry? (her baby is 29 weeks, now 3 weeks old) She did not
indicate there is anything specific that makes her want to cry. Any
thoughts
Hello all,
I agree with the psychological and physiological suggestions of a grief
reaction of missing out on the skin to skin and the shock of this baby's
arrival, as well as the D-MER connection. Would mom be able to get a
KangaCarrier to help with the skin-to-skin for both her and the baby's stabilization?
Hopefully understanding that D-MER is real and physiological is helpful
too.
Peace,
Judy
