I second Sarah's recommendation, urgent referral to breast surgeon.  A
new, painless, hard mass in any breast, particularly one in the breast
of a lactating  that is unchanged by milk removal, is suspicious until
proven otherwise.  I wish her the best, hope we are overreacting, but
would want this checked immediately.  Please keep us posted if
possible.
