I have had 3 clients in the last 3 months whose baby has a submucosal frenulum.  One mom had a frenulectomy done and has seen really good improvement on one side but not so great on the other.  The other two do not want to do a frenulectomy although one is moving in that direction.

What I am wondering though is why are all three women presenting with blebs?  Only one has had a history of plugged ducts.  Is it the compression caused by the atypical frenulum?  Sheer luck?  Any thoughts?

In none of these cases are the babies having problems, there are no supply issues and the babies are 3 - 5 weeks old and continue to gain well.  It is "just" mom who is uncomfortable.
