Thank you for responses. It is exactly what I was thinking and had said as much
to the mom, but I always get a little leery contradicting a doctor without some
"backup" She still has to figure out how to manage a feisty 1 year old with
drains on her belly, when she can't lift the baby for 6 weeks. I am glad its not
me.

Gee Nikki, don't you know yet that breastfeeding is the cause of everything bad
yet? I learned that about 40 years ago! LOL, Pat in SNJ

Aren't estrogen levels very very low in a nursing mom, until the baby
starts eating enough food to have an impact on hormonal levels?
I love the comment "how do breastfeeding mothers heal after cesarean
sections?"
"I received a call from a client whose baby is now 10 months old. the
mother is
having abdominal separation surgery and a tummy tuck this July and the
doctor, a
gynecologist from a world renown hospital is telling her she must wean 1-2
months before the surgery because otherwise the estrogen levels will slow
the
healing and cause maybe other problems."
Another case of sacrificing breastfeeding on the altar of ignorance?
