Just another voice here to say that Maria Paciullo's and Jennifer Tow's
messages on this subject are right on the money. We do need to heed Maria's
advice, even if the first "round" of these negotiations have finished, and
get proper, appropriately skilled legal representation at the table talking
to the insurance companies on our behalf.

I am grateful for Judy Gutkowski's and Marsha Walker's hard work on this
issue and dedicated service to the profession over many years. I am NOT
grateful, however, for the opportunity to be fleeced by insurance
companies. The winners here are not the mothers - they need the best IBCLCs
to be able to keep afloat and stay in business, and they need thorough home
visits, not rushed pediatrician's office visits. Let us be clear: the
winners here are the insurance companies.
