Eczema in the diaper area and on the cheeks can be indicative of a zinc deficiency. You can find more information by googling zinc deficiency, infant rash. Worth investigating. At the very least mom would want to take care of her own gut. And my experience with myself and my children was that improving out gut health by removing sugar, yeast, wheat etc, taking good probiotics and being under the care of a skilled homeopath resolved my children's eczema and improved my health drastically.

Good luck to them
