Good evening..
I was listening to the update on the joint commission perinatal core measure sets. I am very familiar with the PC-05 Exclusive Breastfeeding and have been using it to calculate our facilities exclusive rates for the past 2 years. Now there is a 5a...Exclusive Breastfeeding considering the mother's choice. Alternate Measure.

What?
So according to the webinar I watched sponsored by AWHONN, it seems you can now exclude infant whose mothers have chosen to formula feed and/or combination feed.
What else is there?
So if I have 100 babies (hypothetically) and 20 are exclusive. But the other 80 can be tossed out because they are either combination or formula feed. Does that mean I am 20/20...so 100% exclusive.
Hmm
What am I missing here?? I don't see much released on this and have to say I'm confused, not sure what this will really tell us, other than really great numbers...that aren't really great.
Help..
