I wonder if that is the very reason some cultures believe the "bad blood" is passed on to the babies? If a mother who is angry or upset breastfeeds, she calms down; "logical" conclusion is that those emotions have left her body via the milk, and therefore entered the baby.
The Chinese are not the only people to believe this. According to Emma Pickett, on http://lactationmatters.org/2012/10/30/a-closer-look-at-cultural-issues-surrounding-breastfeeding/ , ILCA's official blog, it happens in Kenya too.
