Phyllis,and all... I listened to the Aetna webinar, and was underwhelmed. None
of my questions were answered. They said they would answer more questions after
and send materials and didn't, or at least I didn't get them. Is the USLCA
webinar by "our people" the one called "reimbursement 101" by Gini Baker etal?
right now I see a lot of people who have kaiser insurance and they are "happy"
well, willing to pay out of pocket to get the help they need. Right now I am
tempted to just keep doing what I am doing and let the families fight for
reimbursement. Idon't charge that much as I am frequently told by my clients,
and they really see it as worth it. My husband is a dentist and there is NO WAY
ON EARTH I am willing to get into insurance billing having watched his office
people struggle over the years. We have worked with an opthamologist and and
orthopedic surgeon who no longer take insurance. If you want to use their
services, you pay them and submit insurance yourself. Those services were MUCH
more costly than my fees. Now that insurance renewals are happening, I really
don't want to fall behind, but don't want to change my practice either or add
the additional work. Both my chiropractor and acupuncturist give me superbills.
Why can't we do the same if we wish, especially in private practice. Just
wondering what others are thinking and doing.

That is true if her policy covers consults and pumps. Some moms have to wait for
their own policy renewal date and hope her old coverage hasn't been
grandfathered in. The new ACA / govt healthcare requires consults and pumps
provided FREE to the mother. The IBCLC then bills her ins co for pymt. Can't
call it "reimbursement" due to the $ amt paid. Check USLCA for 2 webinars
summarizing the process. One by our people & one by Aetna. Then your issur is,
What pump will the ins co provide and how soon and other questions.
