Oh Wise Ones,

PTP

My blood is boiling! I just heard from a mom that is back to work and
pumping for an 8 week old. She is being made fun of in meetings for
breastfeeding. Her boss has singled her out in meetings about breaks
and has tried to refuse her breaks to pump. Human Resources wants to
move her to a different department where she will make less money.

I referred her to the U.S. Department of Labor Wage and Hour Division
for starters. She has asked if she should get a lawyer.

Yes, we have a law requiring employers to provide break time for
pumping but it has no teeth. From what I understand, there has been no
repercussions for not following the law.

Would someone please give me some direction here? I will help her but
I don't know where to start.

Thanks,
