Dear Very Knowledgable People,
I was contacted by a mother who has been exposed to scabies. Her doctor
prescribed a cream containing 5% Peremethin to be used on her entire body.
She is in her last trimester of pregnancy. She desribes her nipples as
having yellowish white soft "crumbs" on them and in the pores. It sounds
like she is leaking just enough colustrum to have it dry in her nipples
(this happened during her previous pregnancy). It doesn't bother her at
all. Her question is, should she put the cream on her nipples as well.
She feels that her pores are open and she is nervous to put the cream on
them but she is also worried that the treatment won't work if she doesn't.
The cream has to be on over night. Does anyone have any experience with
this or any ideas? Please answer soon as she needs to start the treatment
tomorrow evening.
Thanks so much,
Chayn Fogelman IBCLC in Israel
