HI all
Thanks so much for your responses - both privately and here on lactnet. Very helpful. As I move forward with both this mom and also generally in my practice I will use what I have learned tho Sarah - yikes! a baby who had LESS reflux with bottles rather than the breast? There is always someone who falls outside the accepted range of what we 'know' or think we know! I guess this won't help me with my argument that the baby shouldn't have been taken off the breast......but reminds me to be open minded I guess! I haven't heard from her again yet so I don't know if her babe is responding the same way your little guy did. Maybe it was consistency of flow that helped?? It just seemed to me that it was a case of blame the BF this time.......time will tell; babies grow and develop and situations change - the reflux won't last for ever and hopefully the Bf will survive this interruption.
Thanks again everyone
beth
