I worked with a Mom with almost the identical story! In the first few weeks, baby fed more frequently than average (and imagine how often that was!), but once Mom began to bleed around 8 - 10 weeks (and was told she had an early period) - all of a sudden Mom became engorged, had tons of milk, baby had typical over supply issues which resolved in a typical manner. Mom had persistent sore nipples before the bleeding with no apparent cause - that also seemed to be resolving with the increase in milk supply. I met her right after the bleeding finished, so my end of the job was easy! (though I referred back to her midwife, just for a check-up).
