PTP
Six week old baby had typical poops at first, but now are consistently green. Consistency, frequency, and smell is otherwise normal.
Baby is often fussy, seems to struggle with starting to feed. Not with latching per se, but with getting into a sucking pattern. Often pulls off and cries, and it takes mom several changes of position to find one that works. Sidelying seems to work most often, but is not consistent.
Baby is gassy, seems to work very hard to burp and poop. Spits up, but not projectile or reflux-like.
I did not find a tongue tie. (She had very painful compressed nipples at the beginning, so I checked multiple times.)
Gain is slow but steady.
Does not seem to have major oversupply or OAMER.
The pediatrician suggested she eliminate dairy, which she is doing but isn't seeing a difference so far (only 1 week).
Mother has a gluten sensitivity, wonders about possible food sensitivity in baby.
My impression is that green poop is not by itself something to worry about, but that combined with fussiness, might be a sign of GI distress.
Any thoughts about causes of green poop, whether worrisome or not?
