Hi Laura,
So sorry your client is having such difficulty and has to consider weaning her baby.
I suggest that she/her doctor get a phone consultation with Dr Hale or other at his
Infant Risk Center (806)-352-2519.
It may be that a plan can be worked out for partial bf, pumping and dumping for a period of
time, full bf with monitoring of mother's milk levels and baby's serum levels. This may be
something that Dr Hale would want to do in conjunction with mother's doc and baby's doc.
This would add to the info we all would have on this drug's transfer.
Taking into account the age of the baby (8 months), and that baby is likely on complementary feeding
of solids, it may be that bf can continue and monitor. I hope so.
