Obviously people will make various choices about infant feeding, but I struggle with the idea that formula becomes pretty much equivalent to human milk after six months or any particular ago. Jack Newman has pointed out that this is one reason many mothers wean if they have to take medication: the logic is that if human milk and formula are pretty much the same (i.e. no increased risks from formula as compared to human milk) then human milk with traces of medication in it (or alcohol, for that matter) (no matter how small and insignificant) must be WORSE than formula.
