I'm just writing up a study that deals with low milk supply. A lot of the women in the study pumped as a part of their endeavours to increase their milk supply. I am not aware of any evidence that pumps are more effective than more frequent feeds in these circumstances (unless the infant has difficulties with suckling). I'm wondering if any here are and also whether you recommend pumping in such circumstances (and if you do why0.
