Hi Karen!
Have you suggested breast message and/or breast compression? With the history of engorgement and tongue tie is it possible that her supply is low overall? I often find that moms with low milk supply appear to have delayed or absent s&s of MER, when in actually fact it is a supply issue.
Warmly,
Holly McSpadden, IBCLC

Subject: Slow MER remedies?
Wise ones, would you be kind enough to remind me (without a search through
the archives, as I am pressed for time and on the road!) what to suggest to
a mom with a very slow MER? She does feel them, but I have yet to see, or
hear one happen during a consult.
Mom has PCOS and week old baby just had a frenotomy yesterday. Mom did have
a day or two of engorgement, but infant weight gain appears to have
stagnated.
Sorry for the brevity and thanks in advance for any responses!
~kg
