When assembling a homemade lactation aid, do you cut off the end of the #5 french tubing (the end with the two holes) before using? I have seen suggestions to do this and suggestions not to do this. Which do you find more effective? Also, I find it easier for cleaning purposes to leave the cap on the end (so a syringe can be used to clean the tubing more easily) even though this makes it a little more difficult to get to the bottom of the supplement.
Can anyone else share their experiences with what works best for them?
