Lots of suggestions on this so I would just add two obsevations:
* in any situation where weights are being used as clinical
information, the *basic* essential is that weights are done naked on
a properly calibrated digital scale by people qualified and trained
to carry them out and interpret them.....I would wonder how accurate
the scales are, and weighing a baby sometimes clothed sometimes naked
is just poor practice
* this is not a situation that a peer supporter should be handling,
IMO, and at least in the UK this would be way, way outside a peer
supporter's boundaries. The only role for a peer supporter in this
situation is to support and encourage the mother, and to signpost her
to the right help. Clinical or potentially clinical situations are
not part of a PS's territory, and it is very unfair to the PS, and
potentially unsafe for the mother and baby, for this to happen
