Years ago I did some postpartum home visits for a local hospital.  Certain ins companies allowed for 1 visit from a nurse - the hospital was reimbursed by saud company.  All's anyone cared about was sending a "body" to that visit.  If I had a concern about a mom or baby - no one seemed to "give a hoot". It was about filling out the paper work (which was poorly written) so they could charge ins.  I was disgusted by the whole thing. All "fluff" as I call it
In the US -it's about the money and hard enough to staff LC's in hospitals.  When they ate the first cut that is made
