Wow, this MOT is amazing! It's no easy task to be recuperating from a
multiple pregnancy, dealing with the emotions of such a preterm birth, and
being available 10-12 hours per day for her babies (plus pumping)! Yay for
this mom!
I'm thinking 15 oz may not be too bad re: volume obtained when only
removing milk 5x/24 hours. Most newborn infants BF twice that often and she
has twice as many babies - plus twice the stress of premies who have likely
had good/bad periods but not at the same time during their 11 week stay.
How much total time (approximately) is she now able to invest in milk
expression per 24 hours? I'm assuming/hoping she's using a rental
hospital-grade breast pump for pumping sessions? Is she able to pump at her
babies' bedsides? What is her pumping routine like? Does it include
hands-on techniques, e.g. breast massage, RPS immediately preceding a
pumping session, manual expression while pumping -- even if later in a
session while pumping just one breast and alternating breasts (with tubing
removed and tube stump plugged)? Does she ever "power pump," e.g. 10
minutes pumping, 10 minutes off, 10 on/10 off/10 on over an hour 1-2x/24 hr
(counts as 1 session) or pump an extra few minutes here/there when she has
a few? Is the pump ready when she wakes at night for a bathroom break or to
call the NICU? Has she watched:

All the best to this MOT who has been doing an incredible job! There are
some good BF multiples-specific online communities out here if of interest
to her...
