I have always need distance correction and I found that after I entered my 40s my near vision was poor when wearing my glasses or contacts. I can see up close (at about 6 inches) without my glasses or contacts but not with them. If I slide my glasses down my nose, I can see well at about a 1 foot distance (the distance that I hold a baby to do an oral exam) but I cannot see clearly at this distance with my glasses at the normal resting place. I also cannot see at a 1 foot distance without my glasses due to my myopia.
I have tried progressive lenses and found that I couldn't see the floor or counters when wearing them and I had to move my head to read with them. I am concerned that bifocals will make it difficult to see the floor also.
I don't think that my current solution will last for very long and I need to find something else that will work. What kind of vision correction do you use and why?
