Hi Phyllis,
You state it was the staff at WIC seeing the effects of the depo, and they
were asking you to do something. Since most moms enroll in WIC during their
pregnancy, and take nutrition and bf classes, have the WIC staff discuss
the possible effect of depo on early lactation. The mothers will then
arrive at hospital informed of options and can decline the shot or decide
to take it later and pay out of pocket.
I know the peer counselors can discuss meds and breastfeeding.
