Dear Lactnet Friends:

Dr. John Upledger Sr is wonderfully clear and strong describing why the
amniotic fluid needs to drain slowly in a surgical delivery. The waters
exert such pressure that they gush into the air for an inch or two,
suddenly decompressing the baby like a diver coming up too quickly from the
deeps.

Take time at birth: for baby to emerge, for cord to stop pulsing, for sac
to stop draining.

warmly,

Nikki Lee RN, BSN, Mother of 2, MS, IBCLC, CCE, CIMI, ANLC, CKC
