Rachel asks for videos of bottle-feeding, and Anne responds with
links to written info from reputable sources. Here is another link
to some interesting info written in a baby-friendly way I found a year ago:

From Preventing Childhood Obesity in Early Care and Education Programs pp33-34

In a related matter, I have a question too. There's a lot of caution
expressed in the international literature about the dangers of
bottles themselves, eg bacterial contamination, difficulty in
cleaning etc. and this forms the basis of recommendations for
cup-feeding of infants who will not be breastfed. However, I've not
seen anything written about the emotional/developmental risks to
young babies of no sucking - it's almost as if this aspect of
recommendations for replacement feeding (eg in the context of HIV)
has not been factored into the equation at all when recommendations
to suspend/abandon breastfeeding are made. I have concerns about
non-breastfed babies who will be completely deprived of sucking. Can
anyone point me to any articles, research, comments about the
importance of sucking for young babies, or the risks of exclusive
cup-feeding (ie the risks of _not_ bottle-feeding for a non-breastfed
baby) on the baby's developmental/emotional development?

Thanks if anyone can help.
