the way I understand it is - Good Samaritan law in Canada and the States generally applies to emergency situations, providing protection for bystanders in case of an accident, cardiac arrest etc.. hopefully to encourage people to help out with CPR etc.. in some states, it is apparently not protective if there is no immediate threat of danger to a person's life or well being.. might not apply to breastfeeding support the way that our culture looks at infant feeding, though in a disaster situation it would in all likelihood.

Good to be really familiar with this law in your jurisdiction (individual states are different here... In NH, if the average person passes an accident, one does not legally have to stop. In Vermont and Alaska, according to my EMS instructor, one could be fined or prosecuted for not stopping, especially if one has "dr" or "firefighter" on a license plate).

Hope there is a way to help without too much of a burden..

Celina Dykstra, IBCLC, LLLL, former EMT.
