In her message about Dr. Gartner, Maria recalled him mentioning that "there
is colostrum present in human milk for the entire first month in order to
facilitate the slow but complete removal of any residual bilirubin.  That's
why stooling may be less frequent after 1 month."



Does anyone have more information about this?  Makes sense to me, and could
be reassuring to moms of 'older' babies who don't poop very much.
