Dear all:
Babies need social interaction. Humans eat more healthily when they eat in a socially interactive situation. Satiation doesn't always mean you fall asleep like someone who overstuffed themselves at Thanksgiving in the easy chair in front of the football game. It means you savor and enjoy your food with conversation. Why would anyone want to eat in a closet in sensory deprivation mode -- or under a blanket or in a bathroom stall for that matter? Babies who are being overstuffed to the point that they end up falling asleep as a three month old are NOT getting enough stimulation.
Best, Susan Burger
