Well this does sound like bacterial infection, since it seems several
docs have ruled out thrush and psoriasis. She may want to nurse on the
unaffected side for a day or two, while she expresses the affected
breast and hopefully can be treated for systemic infection (not just
topical).
Here is a great example of how we can possibly one day have
telemedicine practiced by some of our great breastfeeding medicine
docs or bf-knowledgeable other docs! Do any of our bf med docs do this
or thinking about it?
